Obese Pugilist Discriminated Against; Only Given 10 Seconds to Get Back Up

Chauncey Morlan

Despite his size, Chauncey Morlan (602 lbs) was a speedy puncher earning him the nickname “Rat-a-Tat Fat.” He was also known as “Sir Cumference” after he began wearing a royal cape to fights. Only given ten seconds, Chauncey was never able to get up off the canvas in time after being knocked down. His fight record from 1897 to 1903 was a disappointing 3-29.
